Jordan loves hanging out at the lake so that is where we spent the weekend. We swam, swung on the rope swing, ate... A LOT, and enjoyed one anothers company. It was a wonderful weekend for a wonderful guy!
Unfortunately, we took this photo after a lot of people had already gone home, but I'm still so happy we were able to get this one!
The weekend of Jordan's actual birthday, his mom, Connie, came to town. We went to the Forbidden Gardens (You can click on Forbidden Gardens if you want to learn more about it.) Saturday after lunch. To be honest, it was a little depressing because the exhibits were not well-kept, but I'm glad we went to check it out as it has been on our "to-see" list since we moved to Houston. A perk about being in Katy was that we were able to drive by and see the house where Jordan lived for a few years when he was growing up. It was special to hear Jordan and his mom reminiscing about how Jordan use to play in the side yard. That evening, the three of us met my parents and brother for dinner at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. Lucky for us it was Restaurant Week so not only was our meal delicious it was a great deal, too! It was nice to spend the evening with family.
It was pretty fantastic that we celebrated birthdays three out of the four weekends in August! I love celebrating people I love on THEIR special day.
Happy 30th Birthday Jordan! I am so blessed you are my husband and I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!
Other notable events this August:
Happy Anniversary to our friends Katy and Kelley Uzzi!
Happy Birthday Nick!
Also, thanks Mom for all your help with the food for Jordan's party! It's no small feat to cook meat for 30 people!
